Great piece! I read psalm 58 recently and found it encouraging, it (paraphrasing) says the righteous will worship the LORD while He pours out His wrath on the wicked. We are already free from vengeance, He has already won the victory, and only He is worthy to administer true justice. I believe we will win, but only because 1) God won the victory on the cross, 2) He reigns now (1 cor. 15:25-26), and 3) we know because of scripture He will deliver vengeance to the wicked

I was so surprised and heartened by hearing many voices; Glenn Beck, Jason Whitlock, Adam Corolla, Harris Faulkner and more describe the latest insult to our democracy, our freedom, our intelligence, in spiritual terms of good vs. evil warfare. They get it. Will our country wake up to the truth of the Book of Revelation, to John's warning of the fall of Babylon, and the need to remove from Babylon, and center on the words of God. Love God, serve others, search for truth and stand up for what is right and honorable and godly.

This being said I do anticipate an attempt at a return to the 18th century Great Awakening. The Great Awakening notably altered the religious climate in the American colonies. Ordinary people were encouraged to make a personal connection with God, instead of relying on a minister. Newer denominations, such as Methodists and Baptists, grew quickly. While the movement unified the colonies and boosted church growth, experts say it also caused division among those who supported it and those who rejected it. Many historians claim that the Great Awakening influenced the Revolutionary War by encouraging the notions of nationalism and individual rights.
The infernal greed of men forces a counter thrust from the human spirit. Trump has a messianic appeal (secular with evangelic base) as a parry. Naomi Wolf is just warming up.

Regarding your subject in this article, if you haven't already, you might find an interest in George Santayana's "The Last Puritan: A Memoir In The Form of A Novel" It's the only novel Mr. Santayana ever wrote and it took him 35 years to finish it. The characters he invents are unforgettable. As far as I know, TLP is out of print. Abe Books has some used copies for sale:
I watched a 30-minute foreign policy speech by RFKJr today & was blown away! I'd forgotten how it feels to hear a political speech by someone who truly unequivocally cares, & has real insight. I realized that people are desperate to hear someone who has a vision, & the heart & passion to make it happen. Bravo!

I couldn't agree more. I've been waiting for a few years to read precisely this: "The fact that the more you attune yourself to God, in sharp contrast to Marxist propaganda, the bigger you become, the more you become, you can create greatness, you can astonish yourself." Still so many cannot fathom that the injections were what they were. Still we tend to disbelieve our own experience, the more blatant the indignity & insult in our face, the more we hesitate. But it's changing fast now. My intention was/is to achieve 'escape' in a 34' ketch, sail here the waters of southeast Asia, & repair to Japan in the end.
But I feel a stirring to do more than just, well, escape & leave it all behind. I suspect you're right, that we all can be more, so much more. But I still intend to start with that 34' ketch. Your passages here of a spiritual quest to become & create more, & in the process reveal this hideous hackable facade of lies & depravity that swirl around us ... this really resonated. Bravo.
