The US provides sick care, but knows nothing about keeping anyone healthy and has no incentive either. On those rare occasions when I do need to see a physician, they can eliminate a whole host of possible reasons for my visit simply because I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, sit around all day playing video games, etc. I don't eat anything that has been even minimally processed. Most of my food comes from my own garden, chickens etc. So yeah, the body can turn on those who don't take care of themselves at any moment, but those who do take care of themselves don't have that problem.

There's a great documentary movie called "Yes Men" where a couple of guys go around spoofing any number of issues, but one of the things that I noticed was that when they pitched one of their spoofs to college kids, the kids were incensed while adults in the real world could barely muster the effort to raise an eyebrow. Either they were too far gone to care, or they didn't see any point in getting upset over something so idiotic to begin with. In this case it was taking raw sewage and reconstituting it into hamburgers to sell to third world countries.
