Can anyone explain to me how Canadian polls had us at a Conservative super majority for months on end, but almost overnight, recently flipped to a Liberal majority? One day we look like canny survilalists, the next we look like suicidal idiots? I am baffled.

Mary Fisher's avatar

Same as the craziness here- it doesn’t matter who votes- it matters who counts the votes. Also, without God, with just human power, it always comes down to “might makes right”. As has been said many times- “You can vote yourself into socialism, but you have to shoot your way out.” Because socialism is, at heart, legalized crime. You are stealing from each other. And criminals don’t care about what is “right”.

Steve G's avatar

Gotta have guns to shoot your way out.

Luke Gardner's avatar

Guns huh? The “Liberals” (now there’s an ironic name for the party) stole those, fully grasping that at some point enough Canadians would eventually awaken to their scam. Too late it would appear. I suspect It’s going to get messy and very hairy. Rope is still

Legal in Canada isn’t it?

I had pepper spray in my purse and the guards at the Canadian border took it from me. Pepper Spray!

KHP's avatar

I had to give up some pepper spray in Victoria, on our way to camping at Pacific Rim Park.

The border agent handed me a form to fill out so I could reclaim the pepper spray on my way out. I still remember the look of consternation on her face when I told her we were returning via Vancouver, so they should just throw it away.

Oh no, oh no, they didn't have any protocol for just discarding things that were confiscated. After some unsatisfactory back and forth she said, look, just fill it out! After a few months it will get discarded as abandoned, but no we have no protocol for disposing of it immediately.

Mike Canary's avatar

I think it’s called Liberal media subsidies. You may have noticed that a number of media outlets are shilling for the Liberals as if their very survival and existence depended on the Liberals winning an election. CBC, CTV breathlessly broadcast for hours about a call that Mark Carney apparently had with President Trump. Not a single mention of the 4500 people who braved the rain for a Conservative rally with Pierre Poilievre. 🤔

🇨🇦 🗳️

Peter Sawchuk's avatar

That's because their survival is at risk. After years of shilling for the Liberal/Woke monsters they have no choice but to lie for them or cease to exist. That is unless they try honesty and that is so far removed from their agenda I doubt if they would even know what truth and honesty are.

All this talk about communists, WEF, BIS, UN, WHO, and nothing about Zionism. That subject of Zionism belongs to any credible discussion about how the power structure works these days. If you don't know what Zionism is, do some research please. It is not by accident that the subject is rarely raised in MSM discourse and on much alternative media, including the Absurdistan site right here. Zionism has long been a major factor in the governance of Canada. Moreover, "Carnage" could not be where he is or have gotten where he got, without Zionist permission.

Maybe that had something to do with Ms. Nickson's access to so many big mainstream media venues over the years.

polls are just more propaganda

Peter Sawchuk's avatar

Never underestimate the ignorance of the average Eastern voter.

ALtab's avatar

City dwellers have been attacked by propaganda the most and due to the peer pressure in populated cities, they have had a harder time awakening. In rural areas, the people don’t have the same levels of propaganda or peer pressure, they tend to be outside more (allows a better perspective), tend to be more independent thinking folks. That’s one of the reason the population center dwellers are taught that they are more intelligent and sophisticated than people in ‘flyover country’ - another way to attack independent thinking and shore up the level of ego stroking in the cities. If they can be awakened to reality, they can be just as passionate.

Harry's avatar

You poll 1,000 people in the Glebe and the Annex, of whom 67% are over the age of 50, and you ask them carefully curated questions that guide them to the proper answers. I recall seeing Hillary Clinton leading by a landslide in the polls vs Trump v1.0, and on the big tv on the trade desk, there was Hillary at a Miami campaign event, with maybe 100 people, most of whom were her entourage, while simultaneously, Trump was hosting a rally in Tampa with thousands in attendance and cars backed up for miles trying to get in. I stood up and declared that Trump would win, and everyone told me I was nuts, because polls. I offered to bet lunch on it, and ate free for a week after the election. Same again with the effulgences of “Joy” around the Harris-Walz campaign, which evaporated faster than Sunny Ways. And here we are again, with polls showing Marx Carnage and the Zoolander caucus of (now, suddenly reformed) incompetents will win a majority and a mandate to lead us into a new golden age, or Venezuela, whichever comes first. Gaslighting, much?

Here in the States we are getting over the damage caused by the party of mental illness and it will take years to recover. Seems like most of our western allies have been corrupted with the exact same WEF, globalist leadership. Trudeau is just another whore of the evil globalists and has done the same damage as Obama/Clinton/Biden to our northern brothers and sisters. Water down our sovereignty by bringing the least educated and most ignorant into our country just for future generations of votes. You know what I mean. Here in the states, we are waiting for the party of mental illness to start revolting and cause us much pain and misery for all of us most productive citizens. The riots and looting should start soon, and we pray that our new government reacts with extreme measures to put these most deranged criminals in prisons and mental institutions where they belong. Best wishes for all of our fellow northern useful of society, and pray you have enough logical and rational support to keep your party of mental illness out of power 🙏

As a man said to me once when we found out we were born in the same hospital on the same day, "We are blanket brothers". Now the parallel is a little rough here, but Canadians and Americans (and we Canadians, by the way, are Americans too) are blanket brothers. Most of my forebears were homesteaders who came to Canada from Iowa around the turn of the 19th to 20th centuries. The ties of Canadians with Americans are titanium. I am Canadian and Albertan, but when push comes to shove, and we in Alberta have been shoved mightily, then I am Albertan first and the wreckage of Canada can go to blazes.

Tom Potts's avatar

We are mostly separated by the parasitic royals. 250 years of needless separation could be fixed if and when Canadians flush the toilet of Windsor palace and come back to its roots of the last 400 years.

Couldn’t agree more brother! My father fought alongside Canadians in WWll and said they were the fiercest fighters of all! Highly respected and feared by the Germans. He visited a few friends that survived the war and always came back from Canada feeling so good and proud. He worshipped America and loved Canada, always calling them his brothers. Such a magnificent country and beautiful people. We are divided by an imaginary border but connected by real history, faith and family. Keep up the good fight my brother and know we the Real people of America are on your side 🙏🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦💕

"The riots and looting should start soon..."

Nah, that was all fake and funded by our friends in the NGOs who came about their funding via USAid. That money has all dried up as evidenced by the feeble turnout to the protest events this past weekend.

The Boomer retirees that make up the crowds are encouraged by the media but they don't understand the optics and how pathetic and cringe-y it looks to a Gen Z or younger Millennial. Don't expect them to join in. Gen X certainly won't be.

The reality is the majority of people support cutting waste in government and Grandma waving a "Down with Elon" sign is not going to change anyone's mind about that.

If they wanted to join us, they wouldn't be as beleaguered as they are. Some want to join us. We'll see what the election shows. I hope for the best, expect the worst.

If it is the worst, and Canada somehow became the fifty first state, which wouldn't happen if the worst happened, that would add at least thirty five members to The House of Representatives. Most of them would be hard Left, thereby turning the House of Representatives hard Left.

Warmek's avatar

Plus two senators.

And that's assuming that the entirety of Canada came in as one state, and not one state for each province. In which case it's 20 senators. Plus a bunch of representatives. Nope. Nope nope nope.

Like, it's such a terrible idea for the GOP that I can't believe US Democrats aren't clamoring for it. Like when I got an email shortly after the election from some GOP oriented fund begging me for money to "fight back against radical left state representatives and senators in the northeast threatening to secede to Canada". My immediate internal monologue was "Are you kidding? Is there anywhere I can donate money to *help* them *leave*?"

Deb's avatar

I wouldn't want us either. Conservatives seem to be a dying breed, this election has to be won for Conservatives or we are done. I don't care if you don't want to take over Canada, but please...do you have room for one more?

Warmek's avatar

Don't get me wrong, I know many lovely Canadians, and indeed there are several whom I would *quite like* to permanently import. But "Canadians" as a whole have always been somewhat more... European, let's say, in their attitudes than Americans, and I suspect that for the most part, it would be like adding another 40 million Oregonian and Washingtonians to the voter rolls. After all, if the number of people who might want to be American were large enough to counteract that effect, Canada would already not be like it is.

I kind of hate that I'm about to sound like some of the more unhinged Trump supporters, but this kinda feels like our last chance. DOGE is basically the realization of thirty years of political fantasizing for me. The very notion that there would ever be any opportunity to even partially reverse the direction my country has taken for the entirety of my adult life seemed impossible. So... I don't think we can take the chance on that getting reversed by a massive influx of voters who have historically demonstrated that they prefer the policies of the recent Uniparty, with a tendency towards the D side of that Uniparty.

We had to have the Biden Years before people (hah!) "woke up" and realized that things not only needed to change but could (possibly) be changed. Honestly, I think the best thing Canada can hope for at this point is that the Carney Years will bring you guys some Trump Years as well, and at that point, you won't *need* us to take the entire country in.

Yes, I realize that's thin comfort right now.

Still, I mean... fuck. I dunno. *Apply for asylum.* I doubt it would work, there certainly hasn't been enough time to rout the employees at Immigration who would reject you for being a literate First World person as opposed to an illiterate Third World peasant, but at some point, I should think, there will be people there who will be amenable to the argument of, "If you aren't going to come take us over, I want to come *be an American*".

There are far too many people who just want to *come here*, and far too few who do who actually want to *be Americans*.

Well. Apologies. I do seem to have had something to get off my chest there. ;)

Robert Lime's avatar

Deb's avatar

Our "premier " managed to steal another election..we have never been NDP for this long of a stretch. Usually after 4 yrs they have done themselves in and it takes an 8-12 yr period for people to forget..but we are sold to China now, and over run by Indians..thanks to Trudeau...please! Future Zek's avatar

The first thing they did was put in the carbon tax- just like the UN wanted. After that the list of corrupted leaders continued to destroy. Now BC is run by some group of ex-pats who care nothing except keep the corruption going. The corruption in BC is so deep I don't think it's fixable but have NO idea what to do.

Frankly, after this past decade in Canada, anyone would be a fool to believe the myths we had been spoonfed for years.

Warmek's avatar

"Sovereignty" is not the same thing as "Independence". Closely related, but while the States of these United States are sovereign, they are not independent. "Independent" would be Texas (for example) leaving the Union. The US Federal Government would no longer get a say in their workings, and conversely, Texas would no longer get a say in the workings of the United States Federal Government.

If Quebec were *independent* they would no longer have a say in how the rest of Canada is run.

Warmek's avatar

Though, I don't know that you have the mechanics *quite* right. The number of members of the House of Representatives has been locked at 435 since long before the last states joined the union, except for when we temporarily added two for one election cycle after Alaska and Hawaii joined.

So I suspect we'd stay at 435, but the apportionment would change significantly. Though, given the precedent, maybe they *would* add as many as 40 Representatives, until the next election cycle.

*In either case*, my nattering and nitpicking aside, it would be a terrible idea. ;)

Tom Potts's avatar

Maybe not. A US Congressman has about 700,000 to 1 million constituents unless the state has few people, aka Wyoming or Montana, etc…. Each has 2 Senators.

Robert Lime's avatar

Right, but each representative would have a significantly expanded number of constituents, most of whom would still be hard Left, and whose votes would always go to hard Left candidates.

Brookfield Asset Management is one of the major Mafia families currently trying to spilt up the spoils of the world into “family territories.” Don Carney and Don Fink of the Blackrock family see the world as a loan sharking, gambling, prostitution and drug running scheme of the highest opportunity in fact of inordinate opportunity. Then the Trumpster shows up and suddenly the families have an issue, a G-Man with a Thompson .45 automatic weapon saying enough, “the people” need to come first, not you rat bastards with your grifting ways.” It is going to get real faster and faster. Russia is going to complete their SMO (Special Military Operation) in Ukraine, the border redrawn. Western Europe is tuto finito, toast, stick a fork in it. Central Europe…remains to be seen, but Oban and Hungry as example have prevailed despite repeated attempts to take him down, so maybe Central Europe survives. As to North America, we will see. Solve Quebec and you solve a lot. They enjoy a unique sovereignty, independent basically, with a middle finger raised to any and all, and wholly dependent on the rest of Canada and the US to make them “solvent.” Wonder what the Maritimes will do? Sue for Statehood, if they had a chance? Alberta, hopefully solves for itself, statehood or independence from Ottawa? Who knows, Carney seems reluctant to come to the States to meet with the Donald. Wonder why? Last Canadian PM that went down to the winter White House left in tears. Trump, like him or not has figured out the 80/20 rule. Pick fights that 80% of the American voting population agree with on,and go for broke. We are headed here for a real confrontation. Judicial malfeasance aside, this administration with all the forces arrayed against it, is just going to keep pushing its agenda. 77 Million people said they want change, well change is coming and we don’t need Nostradamus to tell us that is happening. Trump is like Clint Eastwood in the movie Unforgiven. In the barroom confrontation towards the end of the movie, Gene Hackman says “you shot an unarmed man!” Eastwood replies “Well he shoulda armed himself!” Trump to Carney “you’re an unarmed man, maybe yo better arm yourself. Careful little cadaver man, Don Carney, you don’t have enough button men and solders to see your way through what’s coming.

The weeks and months ahead well reveal a lot, this current time and environment feel like early spring, renewal on the way, but as TS Eliot reminds, “April is the cruelest month.” We have some long days ahead in the “April’ of our renewal, but May and June are sure to follow. For this writer it is all worth the price of admission to see how it all turns out.

Having grown up in Plattsburgh NY, Canada and Quebec in particular were very much part of our world. We learned enough Quebecois to get by in Montreal and rural regions of Quebec. There was a zoo in Granby. My mother would take us to Montreal for school clothing shopping. The wonder of the Canadian pavilion at the 1967 Worlds Fair. It was the best exhibit of many very good ones, and ended with the last portion being a walk through a simulated rain forest of the BC Province. I can still see it today. Now we find ourselves here. There is much ado about nothing in regard the Tariffs, these issues are solved by open dialog and a getting a deal done that is a balance that both sides can live with and decide to make the trade between once great neighbors and friends be meaningful again. If Canada thinks a thug like Mark Carney is going to take them to the promised land, they will be sorely disappointed. Having dealt with Brookfield Asset Management in a previous life, and they are just not nice people. So we will see, my hope is that Canadians face the facts that like here in the States we have all been lied to for so long the liars think that they can get away with it forever. Well we are broke down here and maybe with this small window of opportunity we can get solvent again. Which means, if we are broke what is Canada? Carney knows Canada is broke, but figures he ha a few good grifts left in him. We will see!

I spent years of reflection about the mysteries of the pseudo-confederation of Canada: what sort of federalist system has its Senators unequally apportioned among its fundamental federal subjects (the Provinces) so that Ontario and Quebec always have the upper hand? Or has its Senators appointed by the ruling parliamentary national government rather than by the citizens of the Provinces themselves? Or has a Senate as an upper house that has no effective check and balance against the lower house? Or what federal system gives its territories Senators equal in status to the Senators for the fully formed Provinces? Of is the reality of the “confederation” really just a dyarchy of Ontario and Quebec as the only full partners of confederation with all of the other Provinces little better than mere territories being ruled by the dyarchy? And the core dyarchy itself just the shotgun marriage of Lower Canada and Upper Canada following the Seven Years’ War? And the British North America Act of 1867 just an ad hoc improvisation to keep the roving bear of the United States out of the scattered beehives in North America if the British Empire rather than an expression of the autonomous will of the peoples of the various colonies? Why do the peoples of the Provinces of western Canada feel utterly like colonial subjects if the elites gathered in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto? If Alberta were to accede to joining the United States it is likely Saskatchewan and Manitoba would quickly follow. I am not so sure about British Columbia because, as you pointed out, it seems to be dominated by WEF aligned elites the same way California is. But it is hard to see a bright future for the Adhocratocracy of Canada under Mark Carnage.

Steve G's avatar

Hey, let’s work out a trade. Canada gets California, Western Oregon and Washington. We take Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba? Deal? Oh, y’all gotta take Chicago off our hands too, hope this ain’t a deal breaker.

sean anderson's avatar

Actually once the western Provinces “fall” then it will be the turn of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland/Labrador to fall to the USA. Yukon and NW Territories then asked to be added leaving Ontario-Quebec as the rump state. My guess is that British Columbia eventually capitulates as well.

Warmek's avatar

Your plan involves giving up all US west coast shipping facilities.

Well, I suppose it *would* be good for the *Canadian* economy...

Steve G's avatar

A momentary problem. When the big shake occurs Arizona will be a prime port location.

Warmek's avatar

Momentary only on a *geological* time scale. Plus, the fault is primarily in the north - south axis. So after enough time, Los Angeles will end up near where San Francisco is currently located, but the North American plate is still moving *towards* the Pacific plate.

Rather than expose Arizona to the ocean, the next several ~50 million years are expected to result in more mountains building up on the Pacific coast, quite possible volcanically, as the North American Craton continues plowing up more and more mountain ranges on it's way to meet up with Australia, whereupon the two will smash Hawaii into still more volcanoes and mountains, in somewhere between 500 million and 1.5 billion years.

So, I'm afraid that my official recommendation is still going to have to remain against giving the entire west coast to Canada.

Tom Potts's avatar

Maybe a nuke could shake up the San Andreas Faultline

Warmek's avatar

Wouldn't help, see my other comment.

Well... it wouldn't help with the *geology* aspect of things, irrespective of any seemingly potentially beneficial effects one might think could occur locally. I feel compelled to point out that causing any sort of geological reaction would require a massive ground-level detonation, which is the sort that creates the *most* fallout, and the prevailing winds generally travel from the west to the east.

Meaning that fallout would be deposited across the entirety of the rest of the US. This seems counterproductive, to me.

SO UNDER THE DEFACTO CONSTITUTION, INCOM TAX IS ILLEGAL TO COLLECT! AND THE AUDITOR GENERALS 94' PAPERS SAID THAT INCOME TAX IS BASED ON VOULANTARY COMPIANCE, SO HOW IS IT NOW MANDITORY?? IT IS BECAUSE WE HAVE NO LAWFULL FED. GOV. AND THEY ARE ALL CRIMINALS! CASNADA IS THE WILD WEST AND THEY HAVE THE GUNS!! THAT'S WHY JUST-TIN TRUE-DOPE THE TIN MAN WITH NO HEART FOR CANADA PASSED DRACONIAN GUN RULES AND RESTRICTED ANOTHER BUNCH BEFORE HE WAS REMOVED.

Frank Toth's avatar

WHEN I WAS IN THE D-TAX MOVEMENT IN 94-94' I HAD AN ARTICLE SENT TO ME THAT SAID AT THE TIME 45% OF OUR POLITICIANS WERE OF FRANCOPHONE BACKGROUND! SO IT IS NO WONDER THAT QUE GETS WHAT IT WANTS AND AT THE TIME I LIVED THERE IN 70-75' WHEN THE SUPPOSED LANGUAGE ISSUE WAS THE BIG PROBLEM, AND IT WAS NOT! IT WAS THAT JEAN CRETIN WANTED TO SEPARATE, AND WENT TO TRUDEAU AND TOLD HIM SO, TRUDEAU GAVE HIM TWO BIG BAGS OF CASH AND SAID SHUT UP AND GO HOME, SO WHAT DID CRETIN KNOW? WELL IT WAS THAT THE PROVINCES ARE SOVEREIGN AND CAN LEAVE ANY TIME TO BECOME IT'S OWN COUNTRY, THIS IS FROM THE FACT THAT WE NEVER CONFEDERATED, GO TO CANADA THE ILLUSION, OR www.themythiscanada.com AND SEE FOR YOURSELF.

Thanks Elizabeth. Amazing piece... what a time to be alive and watching the next phase of the West.

Love the article. Unfortunate for Canada that it's true. My Canadian friends are hard working, intelligent people who want nothing more than to be allowed to live their lives in peace and security. There's a deep seated love of country in Canada that is being deflected to hatred for the US. It's the only way your overlords can sell the BS. Hopefully one of your 3 good politicians can unseat the piece of crap your elites have chosen to oversee the funeral.

That redirection is WEF manipulation of polls and media. Common Americans and Canadians enjoy and love each other. At minimum, we should make a third round of the USMCA treaty and leave the narco state Mexico out of it. Canadians should disgorge the royals out of their documents and erase the royal charter. The Americans did that in 1776. Copy and paste the American Bill of Rights into your new independence documents. Flush the royals down the sewage pipes where they belong and start again in a new path of freedom and liberty.

Btw, the UK can’t defend themselves from illegal invasion of Islamic terrorists or Russia or China. How will they defend Canada? They won’t. The Chinese and Russians will come from the Arctic and over the top of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Who will defend Canada? The USA.

This is probably more accurate than anyone wants to admit, but accurate. Wonder if this will be Trumps opening line with Carney? Nothing Carney's dirty money brethren are going to be able to do to help him, and Canada in this scenario.

Some of us aren't aligned with the bs elbows up contingent and never were.

Mark Carney! A most appropriate name for this carnival barker. And he certainly barks a lot.

Obviously, that knave was placed in charge of Canada by the Greater British Empire, which is going to self-destruct, if only from hubris. But a more evil person would be difficult to find. Except maybe for Klaus Schwab, who announced his retirement within the past year.

However, there is one other scary thought about Carney: His policy goals are very similar to those of the United States Democrat Party. Hopefully, he will cause the western portion of Canada to de-Canada itself, starting with Alberta.

Don't forget King Clown er I mean Charles. He ranks right up there with these loathesome swamp dwellers.

Tom Potts's avatar

Oh…. ChuckU. Got it, a useless parasite 🦠 who despises the common British people, and also who only cares about bad architecture and the global warming scam.

Peter Sawchuk's avatar

Love it! I've been referring to them as the Royal Parasites for decades. Nice to know someone else sees it the same way.

Canada appears broken but its people are not broken. What is needed is a push of someone into the limelight with Trump's talents, money and drive to speak out. I was very impressed with a Jim Balsillie interview in his basic grasp of the issues but he was not inclined to put himself forward. You need someone with his talent and intelligence added with a drive to make a mark on Canadian history. Here is the interview with Jordan Peterson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbpO2wtHL7w

I was born in the US 1950 so I’ve seen a lot of history And I’ve learned much more about Canada‘s history in the past few months. Most of it coming from Matthew Ehret. I watched a video yesterday with him and a lady named Anastasia from Think BRICS.

I know that Trump has made gestures towards Canada, but I wasn’t aware of BRICS, I think the Canadian people could do much better than Carney by joining with one of the other. I don’t think it matters which, because I think once the war in Ukraine is settled Trump and Putin will join forces. I think you can also add Saudi Arabia and China into the mix. it’s my opinion that the world will be a changin

Uniform3d RCMP entered our church during worship services, while the Host was uncovered, tromping up the aisles toward the altar, where no layperson is allowed, to demand their paper filled with the names of the attendees. Poilievre said nothing. My husband's job was threatened, my doctor refused to write medical or religious exemption letters (and we have solid data on both counts). Poilievre did nothing but mouth the Uniparty line.

Unapologetically Me's avatar

I wasn't permitted into a Poilievre rally during the spring of discontent ('22) because I could not and would not and never WILL provide "proof of Covid19 vaccination".

Poilievre said, and did, nothing...

He did not stand for me.

How can he expect me to endorse his "leadership", or lack thereof? When push came to shove he was SILENT.

FUCK Poilievre. FUCK Carney. Fuck them all.

I've been trying to emigrate to any country not led by totally impotent WEF weasels since BEFORE the pandemonium.

The USA is a beacon of light and hope at this time.

So are a couple of Central American & European countries but I doubt I'll ever be able to escape Canuckistan.

ah-clem's avatar

I hear you. Poilievre however, in this current cycle, does seem to be the only item on the menu approaching palatable. I read this recent quote "As Prime Minister, I will ban ministers and other top officials from involvement with the World Economic Forum". I'd prefer better options too, but that did perk up my ears. I have to choose small steps toward a better future, rather than continue with more of the same. FYI - I emigrated to Canada in 2007, becoming a citizen in 2012. I didn't want my taxes funding neocon adventures. I'm not jabbed either. My two beloved sisters passed away in the US (not from Covid) during the lockdown. I was prevented from holding their hands and saying a final loving goodbye due to my unwillingness to compromise. Best of luck trying to escape to another country not run by weasels.

And yet, all of this would be impossible without the consent of the enslaved. There must really be something to this Stockholm Syndrome stuff. Or maybe the public is just too inherently stupid to salvage: THE HERD: A warning against false hope: https://daveziffer.substack.com/p/the-herd

There's a ton of stupidity - thanks mostly to the media and the education system. I live in the Seattle area and see on Nextdoor lots of people criticizing and protesting against Musk for trying to stop the stealing going on in D.C. It's just stunning and I can't make sense of it.

It is a special form of torture watching fellow citizens being sucked into the “Canada First” flimflammeries. In the last few weeks I have twice blurted out in public at the knee-jerk nonsense. The vocal blurts exploded from deep interior frustration that people who would otherwise show a modicum of sense in other matters are still bending the knee at the altar of CBC, CTV, Global, TorStar and more lib-lefty outlets. Wot? Are these citizens not capable of any research? Has MSM-driven TDS so robbed their souls of any rational thought, that they may never recover?

But, having endured the collective 4-year c-vid blindness, I suppose there is no surprise here. I stupidly expected, though, we might have grown, might have learned to distrust the eejit/evil Canuck leaders who shamelessly and shrewdly manipulated us during the madness. Surely, even the most hardlined vaxxees must be having their heads a degree or two.

And now what? We hold our breath until April 28, praying extra hard that some sensus fidei will snag the collective conscience of Canadians. At the same time, those who have retained their sanity are quietly and reluctantly making plans should the election give us a Carney majority, or a Carney/Singh minority. When to pull up roots? Alberta? Saskatchewan? Where in Alberta? Where in Saskatchewan? Should we just buy land now as a placeholder? It is not about us. This is about removing our children and grandchildren from a lying, thieving, greedy, toxic wasteland. This is what happens when we turn our backs on a Christian heritage where, once, we sought to police ourselves from within. Kyrie eleison.

Deb's avatar

AMEN 🙏 to that! I keep asking myself why I care so much, why am i so angry about it? I can't help it! Our children and grandchildren deserve our help..even if we are saving them from themselves!

Many of you folks are inclined to vote People's Party. I understand the sentiment. But I beg of you - don't! This is probably our last chance to save what's left of our country. Please. Charles

Stephanie Zee Fehler's avatar

No. CPC showed me who they are. I'm voting for the party that spoke up for me.

Charles "The Hammer" Martel's avatar

Ok. Thanks for facilitating Mark Carney then. It's not your religious faith, this vote you get every 5 years or so. God's not going to damn you for strategic voting. Anyhow, having said that I don't expect to convince YOU of this - you're clearly ok with communism so long as you get to feel you've somehow kept your integrity by not voting for the 'perfect candidate'. Good luck to you then with the next 5+ years (and the turmoil that follows) or more. Know that you and your ilk played a pivotal part in it by splitting the vote.

Like you said, you have a choice to vote for who you want, and so did i.
