When I say society, I don’t mean the upper reaches of the wealthy. While we do have the very rich in Canada, they are rigorous in their hiddenness because we have the worst lefties on the continent and that is saying something. The safe thing for any wealthy family is give $ to socialists, bow and scrape to the harpies at the CBC and hope they don’t notice your bank balance. Anyway, these dreadful people arrived post WW2 with their hideous Frankfurt School1 ideas and just preyed on the simplest most innocent well-meaning good white people you could ever imagine, and literally ate, ravenous and braying all the while, the country’s potential.
So the scandal took place among them, or rather the world they created, which is basically a clutch of 150,000 grifters located between Ottawa, Toronto and Quebec City, whose only mission is to divest the government of as much public money as possible. This is particularly true of their defensive line which consists of the arts and journalism. Theirs is a world where no stone is left unsubsidized by taxes on the hidden rich, waitresses at truck stops in Kamloops and anyone who dares to make money unapproved by the CBC. They are, as a former editor swore to me, the gatekeepers. That was before her circulation collapsed by 65%., but no doubt she still believes it.
The arts and media in Canada are constructed entirely for the 5%, consumed by those who live the lush subsidized life - or those who want to - whether in government or in semi-independent corporations or businesses who require government help and ‘seed’ money etc. (There are a hundred terms for the grift.)
Books, if you look at their sales, are tragic. There have been a handful of impressive films, despite the literal billions thrown at filmmakers over the past 20 years. Most of them are catastrophically depressing, the books make you want to cut out your heart with a grapefruit spoon. Painters paint, if you subtract all the hectoring from minor artists, from forced inclusion, some of them are very good. We can create good art. But not with our current curators.
The reason that Canada’s arts do not resonate with 95% of Canadians is that they are products of socialist realism. They describe humans and human life as they either believe it to have been (dark and in need of enlightened beings like themselves) or as they feel it must be in the future (filled with people expressing their oppression and being paid for it). It’s basically fantasy, and no one likes it, watches it, reads it.
The rest of Canada is a centre-right country, a gut-it-out-and-build-it-kind of place2. I know that is the exact opposite of the propaganda, but Conservatives win a majority of the votes in every election, yet still only amount to 40%. We have five parties, and four of them are leftie - their platforms are all “more money for us” - but the big party, the one that receives about 30% of the vote is so crafty, so embedded in our vast vast bureaucracy that fixing the game is child’s play. Informed by their Frankfurt School gurus, they have been in power 100 years, with brief Conservative interludes.
We take in about half a million immigrants a year, and most of them are from desperate places. Vote harvesting in those neighborhoods is done by leaders in each immigrant community. These men and women are the strongest, most educated and frankly from the ones I’ve met, thuggish, and through them comes all access to government programs, housing and education. Therefore, when they collect your vote, you know for whom your vote is meant. The thing about immigrants though is that they were coming for the old Canada, not the new Commie police state.
But for now? Easy. No one investigates this. Why not? Our media is subsidized. ALL of it.
So it was when one of the luscious pouting stars of this weird subculture wrote a book that began with the account of a threesome by a swimming pool when she was a teen, the publishing house jumped. Not only that, the author’s mother, a well known newspaper editor and writer, was sexually abused as a child, by her riding teacher.
Maybe there were actual sales to be made? Hurrah!
The book was published with recommendations by other noted women writers and filmmakers you have never heard of but who carry weight in this subsidized subculture. Much fanfare, much ink, etc. I live in the demented Dominion, I wrote for the same page in the same national newspaper as the author, and I missed it. As did the 95%.
Never mind.
And then, this week, the skies lit with thunder and lightning, and the 95% paid attention. The writer of the memoir, Leah MacLaren, was charged with rape by another woman, a filmmaker, when Leah was 15. It turned out that the exciting sexy incident of a threesome that began the book, was in fact, rape. At least according to one participant, whose verbal skills demonstrated by describing her harrowing experience, are substantial.
There were of course, apologies and promises to do better from Penguin Random House and a strong assertion of innocence from Leah, the accused rapist. But people outside the 5% read the Medium piece by the woman claiming she was raped.
And they did not like it. They did not like the apology, and it turns out that they never liked Leah. She has few supporters and her twitter is filled with hate and schadenfreude. Further, Penguin Random House has a big big problem. It turns out that Zoe Charlotte Greenberg, attempted to get them to change the story, through her lawyer, and was sloughed off by the publishing house. As one commenter commented, Zoe might end up owning Penguin Random House Canada.
Which would be an improvement.
And then, like the Balenciaga perpetrators, the Kardashian whores, the actresses in the pedo promoting ads, the house designer, and owner, everyone went silent.
This is important because those from the 95% are fed up to the teeth by the people who swan around at the top of the culture with their money. They no longer think that the journalism of narcissism is ok. It’s the reason that people hate Meghan Markle, she’s practising a scam that is over, the lavish coddling of the precious self. Besides, all that crap is covered by TikTok in a lot less time it takes to read somebody’s paean to aging (at 42) or account of her divorce (zzz) or how hard it is to have a toddler (ffs). And it is done by real people, not air-brushed, well-lit, extra-special people. Girl-journalism, which is what I used to call it when I practised it, has jumped the shark.
The hunt of the special by the not-special is not going to stop. Like any furious oppressed group, those shut out of the magic circle of specialness, build their case. Everyone suspects the special of the worst crimes you can imagine, including Celine Dion’s stiff person disease being attributed to cannibalism. Which apparently is practised in Black Magic rites, in the worship of Baal, required for anyone with fame as massive as Dion’s. Nicole Kidman is being linked to the same, her father accused of being Lord High Master of a cabal of child predators in Sidney, killed because he was about to be caught. And that is why she is so successful. That the Kardashians sold Kim’s sex tape for $400K in order to make them famous is established fact and #KancelKardashians is now a thing. Stars of every sort are beginning to be seen as vampires, sucking society’s life blood, deeply corrupt and corrupting.
The thing about sex and glamor and money attached to the dark crime of child sexual abuse, is that it speaks to our lizard selves, which are animated, energized by that crime. If one were able to trust google rankings, it would rank at the top of most searched. Despite TikTok’s attempts to shut it down new accounts are created and more digging takes place. If you work your feed, thousands upon thousands of three minute videos outlining new aspects of child trafficking and abuse come up. Ordinary, (but educated) men and women are so so offended by what they now know, that they have become activated.
Columnist Leah falls into that desperately sad category. It is almost as if she is already found guilty and convicted. She may well get out of it in court, if it ends up in court, but the stain will linger. It’s the wrong time for forgiveness in a child abuse case. On the other hand, given the repellent sexuality of the world she lives in, they will probably forgive her. And the 95% will file it away, as they build their case for an entire revisioning of the culture.
Which is coming. I promise you.
note: I stated in my last Substack that I thought it possible that there was a pedophile cult in our leadership, home and abroad. I don’t know and I can't know. An enormous amount of circumstantial evidence exists, but it has not been aggregated in any systematic way. Rumours persist about many in Hollywood, I have heard hair-raising accounts of the activities of our PM, I have listened to equally hair-raising testimonies from those abused as children, who escaped what can only be described as an organized cult. Lara Logan is in the finishing stages of a multi-part investigation, she is perhaps the most reputable journalist on this file, as we used to call a “story”. The most reliable evidence comes from rescue organizations. I plan to follow it going forward. It’s a bitch of a thing, I needed a few days to recover after my last dig. Please support my work.
basically European commies
I’m 8th gen settler, so I can assert this.
Excellent expose work and insight. I have only been a subscriber for a few months (hooked on first article!) but Ms. Nickson has that rare ability to both detail the disgusting and depressing truth of the sins in our camp (and the ability they have garnered to seemingly protect their ability to hide and maintain same), but she also is able to hold to the truth of an optimistic epistemology...good wins in the end, and it could be soon.
Like him or hate him, Musk is busy unmasking pedophiles and child sex picture traffic on Twitter.
