It is the emergence of powerful technology that has amplified the voices of the morally weak-minded. These are individuals with little sense of self who rely on audience size for a measure of self worth. Hollywood actors are full of such people who sell their souls, willing to submit to any debauchery, to climb the ladder of fame. They feel empty till there is an audience of admirers. It is an addiction nearly as strong as heroin, especially for younger stars seeking to establish themselves. Reinforced financially by doing the bidding of advertisers thus achieving the desired lifestyle, these people become locked in. True believers, every one, to what they have been told to say because of perceived social status which is reinforced by individuals with a similar life benchmark surrounding them. ...And, they fully resent being thought of as tools of their hidden masters believing themselves independent. This is cognitive dissonance on spades. Truly mental illness!

Agree, however, how do you explain all the educated retired people - like my parents – who read the Wall Street Journal and listen to NPR. I tried to share information on the media with my mother, using all the normal videos showing the anchors parroting the same lines, proof that fact checking orgs are owned by big tech, the Twitter files, etc. What was my mom’s response? A combo of Wikipedia citations and the age-old question, “but WHY would they do this, Joanna?!” The answer to that question is a bridge too far for her. I’ve given up on waking her up - I love her but she’s too far gone.

It is in you to question authority? Most people cannot imagine that the USA blew the towers and killed 3000 of its citizens JUST TO GO TO WAR?

This is a great post comment you have put forward. I believe it’s years of being lulled into a confort zone by the TV news. NPR is very much programming at its finest. Now look at all the big donors of NPR. Is there a common denominator. You bet.

Brainwash people before they go to bed with late night news. Then brainwash them in the morning on the radio while driving to work.

Her "Why" question is so common. I recently spoke with an old friend and he raised the same question regarding vaccines--one in particular. I pointed out the censorship and the push for the essentially immune (the children) to get vaccinated, but he only came back to "But why . . . "

I had a long convo with a friend’s son. Very progressive. So progressive he is straight but he acts sort of gay. That type. We were talking about the vax. And trying to talk him out of getting it. I listed all his beliefs, word for word. He was a bit shocked I knew what he believed before he said it but he pivoted to he was educated, most educated people believed similar things because they’re true. I asked him if he had reasoned his way to believing these things or merely had parroted what he had been told was true. Of course he said he had reasoned his way. I then used Israel as an example. I laid out a brief history of that region and asked if he knew any of that. He was shocked he hadn’t heard any if it. Nothing. He hadn’t a clue about any facts. He thought Palestine had been a country for 1000s of years. He didn’t know countries didn’t exist prior to a few hundred years ago. He thought Italy had been Italy since Roman times. I went into CO2 levels throughout history. He didn’t have a clue. I got him rattled. I then asked what actual facts did he have about the vax. He admitted he knew nothing. I asked ‘why would you not wait? Why would you inject yourself with what is appearing to me to be a potentially horrific poison?’ His answer was probably the best answer I had heard. ‘If I believe the government would deliberately experiment on people with a dangerous drug, and do so likely for kickbacks, then perhaps nothing I believe is real. That is something I can’t accept.’ I said ‘that is exactly what is happening. These shots might be harmless, but stupid. They are potentially world changing bad though. Wait a year.’ He didn’t and his fiancée didn’t. He had an attack of pancreatitis and his gf had a nine month long period. The doctors said it wasn’t the vax. To his credit he let me know he knew it was the vax and he is shocked to his core they would do that. He didn’t get any more. He is half red pilled. Not fully. But well on his way.

I disagree.

The "Why?" is a reflection of the long term understanding of generational trust in the media. Trust in the media was essential to navigate WW2 and the Cold War when the USA was "defending itself and its allies from encroaching communism/socialism/Nazis."

To now ask such persons to accept that the Media is intentionally inflicting harm rather than helping to keep safe is a bridge too far. Their life experience does not align with such claims.

There must be a desire to see how the world has actually changed. It can be very hard to change a lifelong paradiegm but gentle truths such as "Congress passing a law that allows the Media to broadcast propaganda" is probably going to open more doors for them.

That is when their rage will surface, IMO.

On point! Sinclair was astute on human nature. I should add that the voices of reason emerge slowly by a few using the same technology with which these people try to manipulate us Madison Ave style. It is also the voice of reason by these few that has woken the perception of many who form the quiet majority, so often spoken about but not heard. The polling has shifted to show both political parties in the minority, ~25% each, with a swelling middle now ~50%. I think we will see this political shift continue. There will always be those on either end of the spectrum who miss basic human nature, but I believe blogs, substacks, Rumbles, podcasts and etc from many very sharp and critical thinking individuals are slowly creating an educated populace to what MSM and politicians have attempted to do. We are catching up rapidly to righting this subversion, but resolve the next few years that continues for at least a decade is required in my opinion.

I was just observing something quite similar yesterday, but had assessed it at 1/3 for the 2 parties and 1/3 for the questioning 'middle'. I thought I was being generous to the middle estimation, I suppose we may find out. Jailing so many folks for thought crimes is already a gargantuan task, and is ample reason to consider withdrawing all support for such systems.

The scary part is... Wokeism (Marxism) is being implemented and it's not mental illness to the ones doing it. It's going perfectly according to plan. That it seems crazy to us just proves how well they are doing their job. People don't really understand the seriousness of it all, as we get lured into things and they are normalized (such as CRT, the trans agenda, the flood of illegal immigration, the systematic wrecking of healthcare and learning institutions). It is all by design. It is all purely evil.

Psychopaths, they are as you point out, are out of touch with normal folks. They call our normal communications "dog whistles" because they can't hear i.e., the underlying fundamental communication, that we routinely share through tone, body language, eye contact and etc They are missing a genetic link. They make up ~5% of societies globally. They feel excluded and therefore need to destroy all they do not understand to lessen their fears of what they do not understand. That is why they seek to destroy culture of fairness where ever it is i.e., merit based culture.

We need to speak about this loudly and make everyone, especially our children, sensitive to what it is we have that is precious and unique. Then, we need to learn to identify these individuals for what they are. Robert Hare has produced the Psychopathy check list: https://psychology-tools.com/test/pcl-22

What you're outlining here is the worst disease of humanity even known and it's called 'EVIL.' EVIL DOES KNOW THE WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, HOW of all it speaks and does. It is NOT a mental illness...It's a DISEASE ALL ITS OWN.

Sadly, it's only discernable as 'EVIL' with history and time as all humans sin and transgress. Do believe THIS the one factor allowing it to prosper and grow as people delay dealing with evil until it's OBVIOUS and has already taken more ground than is easily taken back.

With posts as this Substack...'The People' are offered ADVANTAGES by way of FOREWARNINGS. More people are now armed through Independent Media and are ready to act to eradicate this threat prospering tyranny.

The MSM illusion most people choose to accept without even realizing it. YouTube, Facebook and Google the ultimate evil and corrupt censorship machines which have infiltrated/convoluted so many minds and have consequently closed many of these minds. Jumbled minds which are currently incapable of seeing and discerning the truth.

The die was set in the 1990's when media consolidation really ramped up. I saw so many publications either close or get swallowed up and thought it was odd that no antitrust laws stopped it.

And here we are. Welcome to Dystopia. Indeed, Elizabeth takes issues that are very very very important and reveals them in out out outstanding articles. Her use of the language is superb.

Talking about consolidation ramping up in the 90's, that's also when Clinton let China into the world trade organization without having to meet the in-place pollution regulations for the international community. The reason was that China was a third world country and this advantage would allow them to "catch up". Try today to get China to observe international rules now that they've caught up and overtaken the west.

Back in the 70's there was lots of talk about the anti-combines act. None of the western corporations were allowed to "combine" because that would distort the market to the detriment of us poor consumers. Yet at the same time they flocked to OPEC which was the biggest "combine" of them all. Today OPEC survives and with our own big oil, practically rules the world.

Calling current “media” m.e.d.i.a. Is misleading. I am a former journalist and what is being portrayed as journalism is nothing more than putting commentary on the front page. There is no format to their writing, no recognizable purpose outside of personal opinions. I fail to see attributions and most of all... “fact checking” is being treated as in-house justification for stating a personal opinion. High Schoolers have a better understanding of who, what, when, and why than what is being published today.

Media has morphed into a “platform only” definition. Its media because it is published and that is the closest they will ever get to being a journalist. It doesn’t make it a news story just because of a byline. You can father a child but it takes a hell of a lot more to be a parent.

In my personal list of why no one should watch MSM is that much of it is just opinion being portrayed as news or facts and most people seem not to be able to pick up on that.

By the grace of God, I have been a non-feminist for all of my 75-year adult life. (My identical twin fell for the feminist thing but got over it rather quickly!) I've been an active abortion opponent--writing and speaking out-- since the early 80s. Right away, the media bias was very evident to me. My husband and I stopped watching CBC FAKE news in the mid-80s and after watching it become ever more and more left-wing, we scrapped our Globe and Mail subscription in 1990. I'm still on FB--but way down the line--after being in FB jail a few times. With impunity, it seems, I post things it hates anyway: I guess they're looking for bigger fish to fry. The curtain seems to have been drawn back and more people realize what a scam the legacy media are. Hearing a Democrat, Bobby Kennedy Jr, excoriate the media and their collusion with the 0bama ORCS--OR-ganized C-rime S-yndicate--is music to my ears. One hopes the whole house of cards will finally collapse.

In terms of psychoanalysing, the coalescence of the main media landscape into a mostly unified MOCKINGBIRD propaganda instrument evokes Christopher Lasch’s “The Culture of Narcissism.” Mainstream media is now the chief instrument for collective narcissistic mirroring of the Freudian thaumaturgical official narrative.

Less eloquently, ‘they’ make crap up and insist it’s true for having said it; the media complex including fact checkers, PSYOPSers, etc. strive to maintain the integrity of the false narrative. Dissenting voices and counter narratives must be defeated to protect against exposure to shameful truths.

My own experience with the Media Marching to the tune of the system of control, became obvious after the Branch Davidian's obliteration in 1993 at the hands of the FBI (Technically, Combat Applications Group, but it was the FBI who 'Hired' them.) Where were the 'Daring Reporters' who tried to infiltrate the place? Nowhere to be found. Where were those who at least had the wits to record the OTHER SIDE of the Davidian Home? Nowhere to be found.

This wasn't done because by that time, the Media did what they, by and large still do today- Sat at fold-up chairs and hungrily waited to be fed dollops of propaganda from their Overlords. For most, it never occurs to them to do ANYTHING else, for the rest, their Bosses refused to greenlight anything that might REALLY rock the boat.

Of course the Media is part of the system of control, but it's been that way a LONG time. A modicum of research will show that it's been that way, by & large, for roughly 100 years. Certainly there were more (apparent) seperate newspapers in that day and prior, but if you control academia, you indirectly control media, as you shape the worldviews of those going into the job. Again, re: Waco, I saw this directly- Most of the reporters there, believed the agenda that the Davidians were 'Evil' and so deserved what was happening to them. Who is going to risk anything for people who 'deserve' their fate?

Most don't know it was after the 'Civil War' that the Public School System was enforced, literally at gunpoint, and that's where the framework for this big Albatross of a 'Free Press' really took flight. Worldviews were shaped at such a deep level, that for the lion's share of ideas and people, you don't need to police their thoughts and actions. They police *themselves*.
