Will the Coming Crash be Worse than 2008? How about 1929?
This is how, instead, we become twice as rich. Please let me explain.
We in the US and Canada have enough of everything to be twice as rich as we are now, as a culture, as families, as individuals. If we were twice as rich, almost every human ill could be resolved and the knowledge explosion would be spectacular. It could happen. Ten years. In ten years everyone would be twice as rich as they are today. Easy. Here’s why we are not and how to fix it:
This week, the most inside of insiders in banking and finance said his biggest fear was coming true. The new currency would be based in the resources of Russia and China.
All through North America, every commodity seeing double digit inflation is lying on the ground or under it, unused. Our resource industries have been methodically shut down and production moved. Farmers get paid not to farm. Ranchers get paid not to ranch. Foresters get paid not to cut. Mining? Don’t make me laugh. Ok, can’t stop. Mining? hahahahaha.
Inflation today is directly caused by this unreported, unrecognized, and vicious destruction of our natural heritage. Every time you go to a store or gas station, you are taking another blow from a system so fake and so ruinous, so dishonest, you are prey. And your future? Forget about it. You have none. None of us does. Unless we have government jobs or are part of the apparatus, it is grind away on pennies and Netflix till we die.
Michigan fairly floats on a sea of natural gas. We have enough rare earth minerals in BC to clean China’s clock. The U.S. has enough oil to power the world. We have enough gas and oil in Alberta to power another world. Oil sands oil is the greenest, cleanest oil infrastructure in the world. Those evil tailing ponds up in the oil sands which were demagogued all over the world? Wildlife habitat now.
The US and Canada have enough farmland to feed two worlds. We have enough nickel, enough gold, enough copper, enough everything.
And, we have the processes that mitigate environmental damage.
Have a look at these charts. We have all these commodities. Their extraction has been shuttered.
Farmers are paid not to plant.
North America has enough oil and gas to power two worlds.
This is how it happened. Starting in the 1970s, idealistic kids moved into rural counties across the U.S., wherever there was a valuable resource. They were innocent for the most part, they thought they were doing good, but they were run by a malignant force with long-term goals, the results of which we are seeing now.
The invaders were paid, sometimes through legit environmental NGOs like The Nature Conservancy or the Rockefeller Foundation, or more often, obscure outfits. Much of the money and all of the tactics came through the vast web of dark money the goal of which is to destroy capitalism wherever it can. The Socialist Internationale is a real thing, it is wildly rich, it is everywhere and its principal goal is to destroy the United States.
They blended in, became neighbors, volunteers, church members, substitute teachers, nurses and hospital workers. Needle by needle they created doubt and fear. Any environmental harm was talked up and exaggerated. Study after study was produced, all of them over-stated, all of them with serious credentials. They all exaggerated harm. It was good business creating these documents of fear. A person could belong to ten organizations and each organization would produce scary documents about loss and poisoning, and be treated as a separate organization by legislators and bureaucrats. Collectively they created a fear so strong, the only way it could be assuaged was by regulation.
I’ve stood outside legislature doors in various states, where seven or eight organizations were door stopping every legislator, insisting that their voters wanted this or that set of restrictions. No one on the other side was even present. That’s how much we trusted our government.
That ship has sailed.
What was created was a web of regulation that has killed western democracies, hollowed out their economies till all they can do is collapse. Do you know what Cities 40 Climate Leadership is? I bet not. ICLEI? Transitions? No? They are UN funded and led organizations that operate in every single town, county and city in the world. Staffed by a couple of professional agitators and innocent well-meaning volunteers, they lobby ceaselessly your city and county government for more regulation and more taxation on activities.
When I reported Eco-Fascists How Radical Environmentalists are Destroying Our Natural Heritage, published by Harper Collins, I ranged through 20,000 miles of America’s back country, talking to thousands of people, not one of them had ever had a reporter in their town or county. Not one. Nowhere. Despite the wholesale destruction of their lives. And in every place, they talked about the newcomers and what they did, the ruin in their wake. The fact that eventually, they had to leave because they were so hated.
Now you are asking, rightly, why should I trust what you are saying? Who the hell are you?
Here’s why. I have an MBA. I started three companies before I was 32, one of them in New York’s Soho, which became insanely, immediately successful due to my then-husband’s genius. I ran it behind the scenes and learned a lot about taxes, regulation, making payroll, growth, banking, employees, and dealing with four levels of government plus the Mafia who for real collected garbage.
“Are you serious?” I said to a perfectly pleasant Italian fellow. “I have to pay you to collect garbage which you don’t collect?”
“Yes, dear.” He said. “Don’t bother fighting it. Just leave the money at the front desk, every month.”
I come from 400 years of New World businessmen and town fathers and mothers, who were entirely ordinary people who built the U.S. and Canada, its infrastructure, its early culture, the schools and churches. They came here for freedom, just like everyone else. And what they created, being entirely ordinary, was extraordinary.
Today, that wealth is being stolen. The primary problem of every business man or woman in the real economy is the administrative state. It has become 100% extractive. We exist for them. We are their food.
“Just leave your money on the counter, dear. Every month, that’s a good girl.”
No reporter reports on regulation, how it can work and how it works to destroy.. Not one understands it. Almost none of them have studied economics, other than as an abstraction, or made a payroll other than in consulting, PR or digital. They literally have zero idea of how the bricks and mortar world works. How do you create something people want so much it floods your world?
They don’t know that that creation has a multiplier effect that spreads out like an underwater explosion, showering and rippling benefits for hundreds of miles, touching tens of thousands of lives, creating wealth and abundance all the way.
They don’t understand the multiplier effect. They sure don’t know that one resource job can create another seven jobs, many of them well paying. And all those extra jobs create a thriving town or county.
They actually think the government “creates jobs”. They don’t know that every government job has a multiplier of .5. Every government job takes half a job out of the real economy, because that job is almost certainly extractive and bent on “stopping something” or “fixing something”.
The only jobs that governments “create” are jobs for bureaucrats and politicians’ clients.
Do you know what happens if someone tries to open a mine or a forest for cutting? Entire webs of activists are invigorated and paid, and objections pour into administrative and governing bodies, and everything is first slowed down, and stopped. If somehow a project escapes death, it is loaded with so many requirements any producer without deep deep pockets is ruined. $100,000,000 to start anything. Yes, that much just for permitting.
What that has done is destroy growth. It is like a million pin pricks in human hope. It is why hundreds of thousands are on the streets in every capital in western democracies. Because their home towns, once the engine of everything, have been shut down. Their hope is gone. It is why truck convoys are still going, it is why the anger grows every day.
This is what our rulers want. High prices, especially energy, but food too. They want them higher. $200 a barrel oil, chickens for $60, vegetables just as expensive. The plan was made and set decades ago, refined over time. It has steps, maybe fifty steps. Inexorable. Detailed. Once one fails, another comes. All designed to force you into your boxes, not houses, not suburban houses with lawns and neighborhoods. Big tall boxes where they can control your access to the street. Big stories on the news, crazy weather events, the threat of nuclear war, yet another virus, this one more deadly. Deadly for real.
You can feel it now, can’t you? After the last two years, immured in your house, the reason given irrational and somehow, universal?
Have you noticed that most entertainment is interior, in ugly parts of cities, in space, always surrounded by metals? I’ve got to the place where I watch Yellowstone over and over because it is set outside. Just to see it.
That’s what they want for you. They want you, incrementally, to start limiting yourself. Saying no. No I can’t afford to visit my parents. No, I can’t afford to go on vacation. No I can’t afford meat. No, I’ll just sit here at my terminal and earn enough to pay my rent/mortgage. For pleasure I will have on-line games which is where I meet my friends, and Netflix. No I can’t afford to have children and shouldn’t because of the planet.
They want fewer of us, doing less. They want us to die.
There is only one option. Open up everything. Every single resource. Start cutting regulations. Here, where I live, the center-right government got into power after ten years of grinding awful socialism, and methodically cut one-third of all regulation. What happened? The province boomed. People started smiling again.
It’s so easy, so simple. No reinventing the wheel, no workshopping solutions, no complexity, no hearings, no conferences, no new associations, no more bureaucrats. In each jurisdiction, local people cut local regulation, like real citizens in a real republic. Let my people go. And in ten years? Prosperity like you can’t even imagine.
Let our people go.
