Still banned from Facebook if someone will please post this and tag me. Also I have finished my book, and have decided to put all my energy into Substack because the world is changing so fast, I believe for the better and I want to report on it. So I have monetized Welcome to Absurdistan. I charged as little as possible, wanted $18 a year and $2 a month, but Substack has minimums. If you subscribe annually for $30, you’ll save $30 because the minimum I can charge monthly is $5.
Why should you pay me? I am not a passionate amateur or someone like Robert Malone with a deep specific knowledge of a crucial issue. I am a passionate professional and a generalist. I have written for every major broadsheet in the UK and Canada, and was trained at Time Magazine. My last job there was European Bureau chief of Life Magazine and my territory included Africa and the Middle East. I’ve written for Harper’s, the Vogues and the Sunday Times Magazine. I’ve been published by Harper Collins, Bloomsbury and Knopf Canada. My graduate degree taught me macroeconomics, statistics and law, so I am comfortable tracking huge changes in human movements and measuring those changes. I’m worth it. Pay me and I can get out there more. If you do, I love you forever.
Klaus Schwab’s slaves are quietly vanishing.
In the US, 52 million quit their jobs in 2022, which only added to the flood of 2021. 41% of the work force, when interviewed stated they were quitting, and another 38% were planning to. Mostly mid-career. That’s the ball game, baby, that is almost 80%. ABC Corp will be left with oldsters too tired to change and a bunch of kids looking to cash in and cash out as fast as possible.
Corporatists are in a bit of a flap, which is delicious to watch. Their Bible, the Harvard Business Review is scrambling to explain, to deconstruct, to propose ways to get them back, more money, more time off, more benefits. All of which would thrill trade unionists except that they won’t be getting their cut, their vig, their power base. No one is coming back, btw, Klaus, the UN and the CCP screwed the pooch, everyone knows about it, no censorship can hide the fact that their plans for us include pinning us in our matchboxes, hypnotizing us via screens and farming us like sheep with monthly allowances and Prime delivery of cricket paste.
HBR has therefore re-named this The Great Exploration, as a sop to the rapid individuation of the people they tried to turn into machines. Yeah, that’s not going to work either. No workshops from Tony Robbins, no retreats with Oprah, no courses, no sabbaticals, no Five Second Rule gal or Brene Brown explaining that investigating insurance claims is somehow spiritual., especially if you “fight” for the “rights” of the marginal, and give your next promotion to a person of color, preferably other sexed. Nope nope nope. It is over.
Target missed its earnings projections by 90%. Ninety percent. Ninety percent. The thing about being enmeshed in corporate culture is that you need a lot of stuff to be comfort yourself after the brutalism of your days. You can go home and wallow on your green mattress and lots of pillows with your achingly lonely pets. But when you’ve quit, and maybe sold your house and moved to a cheaper location and started farming, you don’t need more stuff, you have tasted freedom and a pox on all your big box stores. Instead of competitive co-workers, you have your dog, your family and friends, and an open road.
Bye-bye Black Rock. It looks like the hail Mary of ESG and DEI failed. In fact, it acted as a repellant. So obviously dishonest and a play to shame employees into submission, added to the manipulations of Covid, the lock-downs, the forced injections, the obvious sickening of your friends and family, bye bye.
I personally could not be more delighted, since I quit almost 20 years ago, reasoning that working in newsrooms was like entering a bee hive without protection. I look around my home place and there are a lot of eager new faces, young and thrilled, and loaded for bear.
I’ve been trying to get a handle on how big this thing is, because it is big. It’s huge. It’s almost unmeasurable, but I think it is as large as 100,000 Americans at the beginning of a whole new way of life. And they are working age too. That is how badly the institutions of the culture have failed over the past three years: one-third would rather try subsistence farming, home schooling, and making artisan body oil infused with CBD, than climb the corporate ladder.
The most successful new business here is run by a young couple who ordinarily would be angling for tenure at a university, living in a basement, competing frantically, but who now bake for a living and make five times as much money than they would at UBC or Yale. Walk into their space and it’s all smiles and fun and time off whenever they want.
How desirable is that? Very very desirable.
The universities have failed, the schools have failed. There were 10% fewer applications to Universities this year, and millions have left the school system.
If my number is right, this means that the stock market has lost one-third of the humans, the .05% have been farming for profit since the crash of 08.
An enormous amount of this has to do with New Age culture, something no one reading this is likely to grasp, because it is defiantly anti-intellectual. It is like a resurgence of the Religion with No Name, which dominated the Middle East for the five thousand years before Christ and the Romans. It is largely leaderless, individual, and massive beyond measuring. Combine Russell Brand with Steve Bannon and Eckhart Tolle, add up their audience and you have your number, your cultural leaders.
But really, it is leaderless. The new economy is based entirely on user-generated content or product, often marketed through TikTok. TikTok not Google or Facebook/Instagram. Both those organizations have permanently crippled themselves by banning half their potential audience, which is to say people on the populist right, which some observers are saying is as large as 100,000 Americans. The ROI for advertisers on Facebook and Google has plummeted, and the middlemen who sell creators/influencers to brands have moved wholesale to TikTok, which the censors have not yet polluted and where returns are sky high. TikTok is like entering a new universe. All the ghastly old monsters like the Kardashians and skeezy pedo movie “stars”, are out-classed by tens of thousands of fresh creators, often beautiful, entirely original and governed by no one but themselves. You can learn anything on TikTok, from basic physics to any kind of cooking, to well….really anything. TikTok will vitiate the knowledge economy.
SO yeah, your feminist junior bank clerk, once avid to climb the ladder, is now selling advice on TikTok, and embracing her inner feminine, not willing to engage in a kill or be killed corporate culture. She wants a farm, she wants babies, she wants a faithful husband and a life where she determines the shape of her day, not some corporate hardass demanding performance reviews. Do you think these people are going to be paying much in taxes any more? No, neither do I.
If TikTok starts to censor political content, creators will move again.
Along with this massive cultural shift, people are becoming placed. In order to finance the move, they’ve cashed out of their real estate in the cities, and bought land or a house in a small town. Where they plan to live out their lives. The cities, overcrowded, crime ridden, stinking and filled with viruses have lost most of their appeal.
This is where the Green New Deal comes in. The architects of this scam, and trust me it is as near to outright theft as it is possible to make, are merely imitating something already happening.
On Wednesday, I’ll show how the planners of the Green New Deal are attempting to steal the work of the millions already greening the planet. The Green New Deal is based on something called the Restoration Economy, the size of which is measured at $100 Trillion. The Inflation Reduction Act and all the Build Back Betters are attempts by the administrative state, the corporate fascists and the WEF eugenicists to take that money for themselves.
It is going to be one hell of a fight and I am here for it.
And 90,000 new armed IRS agents with paramilitary training to terrorize those who have gone out on their own.
The Democratic Party and their acolyte social justice zealots consider disagreeing with them to be a form of violence, which in the cognitive dissonance required to be a progressive liberal in 2022 justifies State violence, cheering on the police/surveillance state. Their left postmodern anti-science intelligentsia seeding in the urban liberal the notion that the only way they can lose the 2022 midterms is that the Republican fascists are planning to steal it, which is just their justifying to themselves that there is still a covid and now monkeypox pandemic that requires near limitless absentee voting and whatever other electoral changes they feel like, as evidenced by the near 30% of recall votes they threw out in LA county which happened to be just enough to invalidate the recall of Woke Gascon who has effectively ended prosecutions of crime in LA County.
Very glad that our favorite Substack'r would finally begin accepting some modest compensation for her unique, irreplaceable work. Keen hard-earned insight (I read The Monkey Puzzle), razor wit, yet always with a much-needed touch of optimism. Specialists like Malone obviously have their place, but we are especially blessed also for professional generalists who can help us make sense of the (confused, intentionally misleading) big picture. We gain courage in the knowledge that we are not alone. And courage helps everyone. Sincere thanks. All the best
