If you look at the patents that were filed during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, you can see the genius that exists in the middle class. This was another time that our economy roared, EVERYTHING we made was made well, and lasted not for years, but for many decades. I wish I was young enough for this next golden era, but at least my children will thrive as my great grandparents did.

Kay's avatar

There’s a stove built in the late forties and early fifties that was genius. The ovens were lined with a material that held heat so well, after preheating you turned the oven OFF to cook! You could grill a steak on a hidden part of the stove top, and in the back there was a well for simmering soups and stocks. I love my French stove but would trade it for that American model.

SHug's avatar

That is almost certainly a Chambers Gas Range.

It, and others similar to it, would still beat the pants off any stove sold/made today and they are energy efficient to boot! There are "rescue" groups who save and restore these stoves. These are the type of stoves you want for canning, etc, as modern stoves can't hold up to the old pressure cooker weight and heat needed. My aunt had 2 modern gas stoves fail because of that issue. She had to go to Grandma's to do any canning.

Here's one of the rescue channels

When we were renovating our kitchen, I researched stoves of all descriptions and would have bought a refurbished Chambers stove had I been able to find one. I ended up with a Lacanche, which is enameled cast iron. Built like a tank.

Kay's avatar

That video was fun to watch!

My family bought a summer house in rural Nova Scotia when I was 14 yo. Very rustic: no running water at first, outhouse, heating came from the wood-heated, cast iron stove. That stove was amazing; put wood into a chamber on the right side (adjacent to the oven) and it would heat both the stovetop and the oven. I remember being tasked with putting a turkey in the oven after preheating it (family went off to the grocery store 45 minutes away). I thought the oven was too hot so I let the fire die out after putting the bird in. Mom came home and chewed me out for letting the fire die, but then it turned out the residual heat had cooked the turkey perfectly. I was a genius!

Kay's avatar

I adore wood stoves, and cooked on one when I lived on a commune in 1970.

Talk about propaganda moving to Conservative media: I was very disappointed with the efforts of Clay Travis and Buck Sexton (former? CIA), whose radio show took over the Rush Limbaugh network, attempts to downplay the pedophile aspects of the Epstein case yesterday.

They appeared to either be abysmally ignorant of what is in the files, or more likely, have receive marching orders from someone higher up. Buck even claimed that all the mentions of "pizza" were actually about real pizza! I lost a tremendous amount of respect that I had for them yesterday.

Jeanne Dukes's avatar

Personally, I thought it was an insult to put them in that slot in the first place. They didn't earn it. Mark Steyn should have had that honor.

Brian Squire's avatar

If the elites had been holding true pizza parties or spending $20K+ on hot dogs, why have we never seen a single photograph from one of those "parties", showing them innocently eating pizza or hot dogs? Are we supposed to believe that, for some unknown reason, photographers were barred from such events, but not from any others?

Corrin Strong's avatar

That’s what I mean. It’s absurd to think they were only talking about pizza. On the other hand, it doesn’t mean that everybody that ever knew Epstein or was mentioned in the files was part of that group.

Communists like to call neocons, the CIA's lipstick Trotskyites, conservatives. That is so embarrassingly absurd that people from Harvard believe it. And neocons are the dominant sect in the GOP country club. That makes "RINO" low humor. That makes "conservative" saboteurs mainstream.

Corrin Strong's avatar

Agree. Just like they believe that all conservatives watch Fox News!

Double Mc's avatar

Let's be honest, Rush himself would not have discussed it. I loved him, but often wondered why he didn't tackle some of the thornier issues.

Paul B. Cohen's avatar

Perhaps because he didn’t speculate on unverified hearsay? So much chatter on the files is not backed by any hard evidence. Without a doubt there’s a witch hunt aspect in play here.

elizabeth nickson's avatar

there is a lot of evidence, a lot of first hand testimonies. If you read the sworn witness reports in the various law suits, I mean, it's like stolen election there is so much evidence, it's crossed into ridiculous. But my stock answer is hundreds of books, thousands of first hand testimonies, many many photos and videos, dozens, if not hundreds of sworn affidavits in Grand Jury testimonies and cases which make it to court. Ten thousand photographs, all suppressed. The belief gap is that the mainstream has not acknowledged it, the dam has yet to break. I was an early adopter because I had to come to terms 30 years ago that my mother, my educated, beautiful mother, ended up as an experimental subject in MKUltra experiments. That cracked open my trust in the system.

Paul B. Cohen's avatar

I’m not denying there are many testimonies, or that some aren’t true in varying degrees. That doesn’t conflict with what I’ve written. There have been false allegations, such as from Virginia Guiffre, and the fact that some of those claiming abuse were found to be recruiters of alleged victims.

Some have made this affair into a money-making opportunity, others a politicized weapon as well, enflaming a hair-triggered constituency into a mob frenzy ready to commence the lynchings.

There are real and serious problems to deal with and the way the Epstein fiasco has developed isn’t helping one bit - it’s only healing more fuel on the fire.

I believe President Trump saw this and hence his remarks and actions about the matter.

May everyone receive the judgment needed and necessary for the good of all. I trust the Lord Jesus Christ to do it, in spite of and even using the corrupt actions of men.

Anne McKinney's avatar

I still wonder why so many missing children seem to disappear into the mists. Is that a concern for you? How would you address it?

Mike richards's avatar

Perhaps because there are witches.

Paul B. Cohen's avatar

It’s a new version of the “Me too” frenzy. Was there some illegality transpiring. Undoubtedly. There always is… everywhere! But that movement was also a money-making bonanza for shrewd victim-portraying shysters and deranged individuals.

Look at the Jean Carroll fiasco. In what world can a woman claim sexual assault 30 years later with no witnesses or evidence and waste taxpayers’ money on a show trial that attempts to extort hundreds of millions of dollars?! What a pathetic and evil travesty. If one can’t see that they are in a perilous state.

Watch the Coleman Hughes interview with Michael Tracey.

elizabeth nickson's avatar

Michael Tracey is wrong on this.

Corrin Strong's avatar

I watched a little of it to me. To me he was setting up a bunch of straw men.

Paul B. Cohen's avatar

Give one example of a straw man.

Corrin Strong's avatar

His claim about all the poor people who are thought to be pedophiles because their names appear in the Epstein files. That’s blatantly not true.

People have enough sense to realize that not everyone who talked to Epstein or is mention in an email with Epstein or went to a party with Epstein is a pedophile.

Paul B. Cohen's avatar

Michael agreed with you. In fact that was a theme in his commentary. He never said or implied otherwise.

Richard C. Cook's avatar

Meanwhile, Netanyahu and Trump launch a new war against Iran. Sorry, I do not buy what you are selling.

Kay's avatar

Likening this war to past regime changes orchestrated by the CIA is a mistake. Iran is the chief state sponsor of terror in the world. The Islamic, anti-Westernization forces took over Persia (after the U.S. abandoned its support for the Shah) and turned it into a nation where women are stripped of any rights. Some of us remember when this happened. Iran is a hellhole run under sharia law, and the majority of its people want their nation back. They’ve been begging Trump to intervene to save them.

Distinctions are important.

Mike richards's avatar

Shia Islam is responsible for a minority of state-sponsored terrorism. Sunni the large majority, in the Muslim world. Who was funding Boko Haram in Nigeria? USAID - a congress-critter said so.

Beadhead's avatar

The United States of America is the chief state sponsor or terror in the world, and has been for the past 75 years. Apparently, you have no knowledge of the fact the Shah's detestable dictatorship, kept in power by a vicious secret police force trained by Israel, was placed in power by the U.S. following the violent overthrow by the CIA and MI6 of Iran's democratically elected government. Please stop with the fairytales.

Kay's avatar

You might want to listen to the folks at Promethean Action. The source isn’t Israel, and it isn’t the USA. Not that the US hasn’t been involved in a lot of nefarious activities. But chief sponsor of terror? That’s propaganda, not reality.

Tonee norman's avatar

What IS the source,then?

It’s all so very confusing. Many( seemingly )intelligent people have so much “inside information)” and,it all bounces us back and forth. IS THERE A TRUTH WE CAN ALL UNDERSTAND? Please, and, thank you.

Kay's avatar

I’ve been listening and trying to understand myself. It’s the remains of the British colonial system run out of the City of London, by the oligarchs responsible for so much of what the Western world especially has endured, going back more than 100 years. People behind the scenes manipulating events, wars and so on, exercising control for their own financial benefit. I don’t even know if I’m saying it right. It’s the reason we’ve had the push for globalism, climate change, and all the things that are used to take away our freedoms, to shift Western societies away from production into service economies, etc., etc. These people have been plundering the wealth of nations for a long time. As little as I understand it, it’s the only explanation I’ve read or heard that actually makes sense. The influence and pressure of this system explains why so much of our government appears to function as a vast criminal enterprise. Those running the system are Luciferians who use the promise of power and riches to entrap and control people. President Trump is trying to free us from this system, which is why he’s so viciously hated and why there have been numerous attempts on his life.

Promethean Action and Elizabeth Nickson are two information sources about all this. I’ve probably explained it very poorly.

Tonee norman's avatar

Thank you for the attempt at explaining this crazy making world. You understand about as much as I do..it’s such a tangled web ,or tapestry of mixed up threads. I don’t know which one to pull on for truth.

I wish you peace and prosperity! And,May God protect the innocent.

equinefriend's avatar

Agreed Beadhead, but the overthrow you refer to was done (specifically) by the globalist controllers of the CIA and MI6 (the British Crown being one of the main sources). Respectfully, it's an incorrect generality and misleading to say that the United States of America is the chief state sponsor of terror in the world without distinguishing between the United States (which has been captured and infiltrated for over the last 100 years by globlalists) and the true cause of terror, which has always been the Deep State/globalists, a clandestined cabal within the United States. If the general public actually knew how much our government has been infiltrated by the globalists and their true agenda, they'd vehemently oppose it.

I've observed the same generality when "the Jews" are referred to as a negative source. There's a huge difference between actual practicing religious Jews and Zionists. Zionism has been sold to the public as Judasim, which it's not. The two terms are not interchanagable. It's the Zionists that are the problem, who have always hidden behind "the Jews" as cover. Therefore, I feel it's vitally important to name the specific policies, agencies, or decision-makers involved rather than attributing actions to an entire country or its people. Otherwise we paint millions of people with the same brush, which only enters further confusion and division among us.

The chief state sponsor of terror in the world HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE GLOBALIST CABAL, a separate traitorous bunch of psychopaths and their bribed/blackmailed lackies, and not the average American nor other such citizens of the world.

Trump and his administration (and the people behind the scene supporting him) are the first group of people that are (successfully) in the process of defeating the globalists and stopping their ongoing agenda.

It is good to see your take on things, Ms Nickson - and I concur.

I have been doing some reading of late, and sense a trend towards the improvement of the world is beginning. Allow me to explain...

First, I believe it was in the 19070s that the Supreme Court ruled in their "Sullivan decision" that the media cannot be sued for libel, so long as they make a correction in a 'reasonable time'. This means that fellah Rachel Maddow can claim on air that I am into bestiality, and I have no recourse so long as a correction is proffered (even if that is at 1AM 22 days later, where nobody will see or hear it). Thus, the Mainstream media, who we cannot hate enough, is emboldened to bray whatever they like to arouse nd control the unwashed masses.

On the other hand, book publishers are not protected as such. So after reading RFK Jr's "The Real Anthony Fauci", Kash Patel's "Government Gangsters", Zegler & Shapley's "The Whistleblowers versus the Big Guy" and most recently Pezzulo's "Stolen Elections" - where many individuals and entities and events are laid out yet none of those names have brought lawsuits for libel - it occurs to me that this is because the only real defense against a libel lawsuit is "it's the truth". My guess is that Fauci and Schiff and Pfizer and the rest do not want the publicity of lost libel lawsuits - and that tells us something.

From the "Stolen Elections" book, I have learned that Dominion and its sister companies, which were indeed created in Venezuela (and Hugo Chavez boasted he would get Obama elected decades ago) and have been very cleverly hidden down rabbit holes of shell corporations in various countries (including places where finding out the true owners is impossible) have effectively infested not just the US but some 70 countries around the world...and with the backing of Iran, Cuba and China have very likely put their thumbs on the scales of "democratic voting" for a very long time. To me, this explains not only the diapered potato America had to suffer (and Trump's loss in 2020) but perhaps also Starmer, Carney and Lord knows who else that has been installed via subterfuge.

But the fact these books are out there, and of course the Epstein fallout - has given me hope that things are going to improve, albeit perhaps slowly and with no shortage of outrage by the very members of the horrid class that has been perpetuating their vision of a better world for decades.

I hope ever more people will read those (and other) books - and understand the lack of libel lawsuits in itself says something about their veracity.

And thank you for your insights and observations!

You started out well with the books then lost me in the Venezuela-China-Cuba-Iran stuff. You seem to have missed Russia? None of these countries are our enemies, and treating them so is justification of an otherwise unjustifiable military expenditure that is rapidly bankrupting America. Bombing Iran for Israel's benefit will not make America great again.

BobF's avatar

Really? None of these countries are our enemies?

Perhaps changing your dosages is in order.

While they are no declared arch enemies, it is more than plain that Iran, Cuba and the CCP are quite against America (and freedom in general, what with their totalitarian mindsets for their own servants - er, citizens).

Now, if your hint of anti-Israel sentiment in the "unjustifiable expenditure" comment was to somehow make a stand on that front, one need only see how the Mullahs have presided over tens of thousands of their own citizens being murdered by their own army to try to quell the protests against them - and that on top of their decades long history of backing untold terrorist organizations around the world (Hezbollah, Hamas and the rest), all of whom chant 'death to America" on a daily basis, perhaps you should reconsider if they are perhaps in fact our enemy by their own declarations.

Of course, we might all have been mislead - it is said that Roosevelt was warned about the imminent attack on Pearl Harbor weeks before the event, and too that the sinking of the Lusitania was almost orchestrated by our side (in both cases, supposedly to inflame the American public to join these conflicts that we otherwise did not want to get into) - so maybe this too has involved some behind the scenes skullduggery, but only time wil tell about that.

In the meantime, white collar workers over the age of 50 are being laid off and not being rehired anywhere. Ask me, I’m one of them. Out of work for a year now.

Been there. Once you let go of the old ideas, you will find there are just so many ways to make a living. It's really hard to get started, but you can do it.

💯, No. Unscramble your brainwashed bean.

It isn't easy. One accumulates a lot of baggage over the years in the traditional workplace. Very hard to toss old ideas overboard.

Unclear message. Please rephrase to whom you’re speaking in both statements.

I... Man, I hope you're right, but that really seems excessively optimistic.

If it were really a 75% Trumpian World, I think it'd look *very* different than it does. Hell, even a 75% Trumpian *Country* would look very different than the one we're living in.

It has become clear that every government program feeds into a series of progressive NGOs who are skimming a vig as they distribute all of our tax money to another round of Democratic fraudsters in return for votes. Remember when every President back to George Washington promised to deal with "waste, fraud, and abuse" and nothing much changed? Sure, they found $1m over in the corner, but they never did anything about the billions being routed through these NGOs and fraudsters. Because they didn't want to know. That was the scheme and they were never going to upset the apple cart.

I’m guessing you drafted and published this before hearing that Trump started the war in Iran, Elizabeth. Everything just changed. Was DOGE merely an opportunity for deep data mining?

Sure looks like the Peace President is at again. Question : what about the 38 trillion in debt? How is the peace president gonna handle that? You must have been around these last 20 years. What is the Peace President gonna do about the State? Reform it? Shackle it? Defund it? This is the same State that’s been around for 10,000 years. What are you gonna do now?

julia payne's avatar

Hopefully, this peace president's economy will do better than, say, biden's or obama's..and certainly, no matter WHAT happens, it will do better than it would have under kamala...do not forget..the choice was kamala or trump....

Beadhead's avatar

Whether you vote for Tweedle Dum or Tweedle Dee, the result is the same. U.S. politics is a Kabuki theatre of uniparty hysteria. You can "hope" all you want, but the U.S. economy is in the throes of financialized, late stage capitalism that no amount of tinkering can save or reverse.

julia payne's avatar

Wait...are you from canada? How do you rate your own economy? Or are you part of the crowd who prefer to remain distracted by trump so you do not have to see the utter devastation that is currently canada?

Leskunque Lepew's avatar

IMHO...the current administration was saddled with that situation.

They did not create it.

If we try to do what Creator wants, we can live in this sort of renewed era.

The human sacrifice (that means IVF as well as trafficking, parts selling, abortion, and slavery) has to end. We can’t teach AI not to do human sacrifice if we do it ourselves.
