Great article. And, yes, I do believe they will start killing Canadians. I visit Canada each week to care for a sibling in LTC who has suffered strokes and now has serious dementia. They tell me that he probably won't live much longer, but they don't tell me why. He looks perfectly healthy, albeit overweight. He has not been diagnosed with heart disease, lung disease or any other illness beyond dementia. I fear they're planning to give him MAID -- with or without my permission. He's in his 60s and over time, will cost the government more money than they want to spend on "traditional Canadians" when they need the money for invited immigrant invaders.
And to think that we were (and even still are) mocked for warning of "death panels" when others say what a great idea it is to have the government in charge of healthcare here. Too many Canadians are given statins which assuredly converts their brains to hard lumps as the cholesterol that is reduced is exactly what the brain needs. Stop the statins and increase Vita D3 (plus K2), at least 20000 IUs daily. Many other supplements, (glutathione, NAC, zinc, etc) and vitamins can help. Avoid too much Vitamin A and Omega 6. There are ways to avoid Alzheimer’s and dementia with proper diet supplementation. For Heaven’s sake, stop with the statins, as many are now aware. Check to see what meds he takes.

If I may - I'm one of those "Boomers" who went to Vietnam along with a whole lot of really great, brave young men. They were the absolute best our country had to offer, and I am very proud to be one of them. Gen-x spent our youth watching as boomers sold our inheritance out to the highest bidder, watched as farm after farm was repossessed and sold at auction, industries were shuttered and jobs and livelihoods vanished in front of our eyes as NAFTA gutted the hardest working Americans. I find it difficult to fault those who didn't want to go to Vietnam. Not our circus, not our monkeys. And in the end, communism has fallen apart under its own weight almost everywhere we haven't subsidized the heck out of it by moving our manufacturing there. But I don't think the US should have done the first Gulf War either, or basically anything else that we've used the military for since the Soviet Union fell. Again, not our circus. Great article. And, yes, I do believe they will start killing Canadians. I visit Canada each week to care for a sibling in LTC who has suffered strokes and now has serious dementia. They tell me that he probably won't live much longer, but they don't tell me why. He looks perfectly healthy, albeit overweight. Too many Canadians are given statins which assuredly converts their brains to hard lumps as the cholesterol that is reduced is exactly what the brain needs. Stop the statins and increase Vita D3 (plus K2), at least 20000 IUs daily. Many other supplements, (glutathione, NAC, zinc, etc) and vitamins can help. Avoid too much Vitamin A and Omega 6. Our country (USA) was founded for the glory of God and the advancement of Christianity. It is the essence of the Mayflower Compact. This Christianity is not about worshipping Christ and going to church (although those are fine things to do)...it is about following His example and living in service to others. That was what He was showing us when He washed His disciples' feet. This world is built on service to self and that is what will (thankfully!) change. Soon we will all say, "not my will but Thy Will...Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven". Fiat!!

If I may - I'm one of those "Boomers" who went to Vietnam along with a whole lot of really great, brave young men. They were the absolute best our country had to offer, and I am very proud to be one of them. It was an enormous disappointment to see the rest of our country go along with the pro-enemy Left and find excuses to avoid combat service. I believe that this was a crossroad where our generation picked the easier, safer path and we have been enslaved by the Left and their idiocy ever since.
I was an infantry officer in the UsMC 78-82, PLC/OCS and while I didn’t get the despicable time you all did, got enough to not like 99% of my cohort generation. I served with many many enlisted and officers who were in country and fought with bravery and guts and for each other. I can only say welcome home Marine, Semper Fi.

"Refused" somehow imparts a dignity that didn't really exist. Gen-x spent our youth watching as boomers sold our inheritance out to the highest bidder, watched as farm after farm was repossessed and sold at auction, industries were shuttered and jobs and livelihoods vanished in front of our eyes as NAFTA gutted the hardest working Americans. Having spent our youth being either ignored or punished by our elders we put our heads down and worked as many hours as we could fit into a day, bought cheap houses and made them nice, sold them and did it again (sadly even that is hardly possible anymore) working, working, working. My millennial knows exactly where he comes from, was devastated when Charlie was murdered, we mourned together as the man was a beacon of hope for the future of our country. I pray the moment isn’t wasted and cheer as our youth finally wake up!

I find it difficult to fault those who didn't want to go to Vietnam. Not our circus, not our monkeys. And in the end, communism has fallen apart under its own weight almost everywhere we haven't subsidized the heck out of it by moving our manufacturing there. It didn't really need "fighting" because it's unsustainable crap of an economic theory.
But I don't think the US should have done the first Gulf War either, or basically anything else that we've used the military for since the Soviet Union fell. Again, not our circus. And I'm not any sort of pacifist, aghast at the thought of the use of force, I just think we should be *far* more judicious with it. It's certainly the case that most of the objectors against Vietnam behaved egregiously, and have done nothing to improve the country, but rather the opposite.

I resent the generalization of all Boomers being blamed for our current situation. Many Boomers older than I, that I knew, went off to Viet Nam. When we fought against 'the Establishment' we were rewarded w the backlash. I think one of the early landmarks of that was the movie 'Easy Rider' and why it held such impact. It was the truth and it was scary. All we wanted was to be free and to 'do your own thing'. Yes we had our Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorns but they were the minority as opposed to the sorely misguided, misinformed and indoctrinated who came after us.

However if the rich kids had been forced to go and get killed and or wounded, instead of a free ride on a college campus the war would have ended in a year. You’re not wrong about the rot. The grandchildren of builders inheriting everything and supplying nothing back, that’s the core of the tragedy. A whole generation coasting on what others built, congratulating themselves on their cleverness while hollowing out the institutions they were supposed to steward. The long march through the universities, journalism, Wall Street, government you’ve nailed it.
Where I’d push back is on the blanket blame of “the Boomers.” Yes, a massive part of that generation traded in their rebellion for suits and stock options. But tucked inside that same generation are the ones who built the movements, fought the culture war when it was still unfashionable, kept the faith when the institutions went hostile, and have been holding the line for decades. My own parents were of that generation. They lived service, not slogans.
And you’re right, something is shifting. Charlie Kirk’s murder was a brutal shock, but also a flare in the night sky. People who’ve been asleep are stirring. Gen Y and Z, as you say, aren’t all indoctrinated; many are hungry for meaning, willing to carry a candle or a rifle if it comes to that. That’s the seed of the Fourth Great Awakening I keep talking about, a revival that crosses generations and shatters the caricatures.
So yes, let the comfortable shuffle off to their book clubs and tennis courts. They’ll be irrelevant soon enough. What matters now is that those awake young and old, stop waiting for permission and start acting with courage and service. That’s the fire our ancestors carried. That’s the fire we need to carry now.
I am a Boomer but Class of ‘72 and female so I didn’t go to a Viet Nam. I was “against” the war because my older cousin ran away from home, lied about his age, and enlisted. He came home a mess and ended up being persuaded to blow up a NG building in UT, which came back to haunt him years later. He got off, but it was on his record and caused him to go to prison in WY (not a nice place to be in prison) for things he didn’t do. I was programmed by educators for most of my adult life (I have an AA, BA, MA, and JD) and enjoyed being in the Kool Kids Klub (see what I did there?) but the dissonance became too great in 2016 when the Dems locked Bernie delegates out of their convention. That is what woke me up to start listening to Patriot Radio. David Webb at night, Steve Bannon in the early morning, Wilkow, Hannity, and Levin during the day. I listened in the car to early morning exercise classes, after court, on the 42 mile trip back to the office and on the way home after work. I woke up.i am not a spoiled Boomer. I have no 401k. I have a very modest SS benefit. I am still practicing law at 71, in a new state for the past year - where my husband went when we escaped from the Portland, OR orbit, albeit on the WA side of the river. He is younger by ten years and we are just hoping our efforts now will provide enough subsistence for the times, coming soon enough, when we can’t work but are still alive. Interesting thought about the American Revolution. I have a paternal line extending back to the Puritans, and have studied American history through court cases, deeds and wills. I think you are right about Christianity being the reason our Revolution succeeded while so many failed. Somehow I missed that.
